Athletic Recruiting Profiles Aren’t The Only Thing That You Need

It’s no secret, when you work with high school football recruiting websites, they all require you to create athletic recruiting profiles. You may have a dozen profiles up with your statistics, photos, and even some video highlight footage from your games. This is great and it is an important first step in the recruiting process, but it’s only the first step in the process. Getting a college coach engaged in the recruiting process requires a lot more time and effort.

If you want to be awarded a college football scholarship, you have to learn how to play the game and play it well. You can’t rely on your high school coach. Your coach may want you to get a full ride, but the high school coach is not responsible for the success of your recruiting process nor does he have the time or resources to guide you through the process. You must remember that your high school coach is not being recruited and your parents are not being recruited.  You are the one being recruited so if you are serious about the process you will need to learn (and master) the process.

Instead, you need to learn to take a business approach that goes well beyond an athletic recruiting profile, especially if you have one on several different high school football recruiting websites. You have to learn to manage the system more effectively, have the content college coaches are looking for so that you can actively engage them in offering you an athletic scholarship. When you can get a college coach actively engaged in communicating with you, that’s when you’ll have the best chance of getting a scholarship.
